The Making of a Medallion Style Pendant

A centerpiece is made out of metal clay. A bezel cup is made or purchased and then lap sanded to the proper height.

 
Zigzag wire or twisted wire is made with sterling or fine silver wire. Alternately, purchased beaded wire or other fancy wire may be used. The fancy wire should be annealed and pickled before use.



The medallion is soldered to the bezel cup. The soldered piece is pickled before the fancy wire and bail are soldered on. The piece is given the desired finish or patina and sanded and polished.
